Members of the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an Essex fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, May 20 at approximately 7:30 p.m. The crash happened along Route 702 and I-695. Investigators have determined the operator of a 2010 Kia Forte was traveling northbound on Route 702 when he collided with a guardrail. The operator of the Kia, 30-year-old Nicholas Helliwell was ejected from the vehicle and transported by medics to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. This crash remains under investigation by members of the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team. Anyone who may have information about this crash is asked to contact 410-307-2020.
