The Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Department reported a structure fire in the unit block of Windward Way in Middle River on Tuesday afternoon.
Crews arrived first with a large volume of smoke showing from the front door and two occupants seen attempting to exit down the interior stairs.
Firefighters wearing self contained breathing apparatus not only verified everyone was out of the house, but deployed a 1.75″ hoseline to quickly extinguish a fire in the kitchen before it could spread to the rest of the home.
