Independence Day Boat Parade Cancelled

The organizers of the Independence Day Chesapeake Patriotic Boat Parade announced that the inaugural event has been canceled. No reason was given for the cancelation. No word if the organizers will try it again in 2024.

A new era is born as the Independence Day Chesapeake Patriotic Boat Parade will debut this year.

The parade will travel around the waterways of Back River in Eastern Baltimore County on Sunday, July 2.

The parade is being led By Captain Skeet Williams. Rain date is Monday, July 3.

The parade will leave at the Dock of the Bay about 5 p.m. and will travel around Millers Island and Back River.

The parade will end and return to the Dock of the Bay for the Award Ceremony around 8:30 p.m. There will be awards for best decorated boats.

Viewing locations for the parade include

Dock of the Bay, Row Boat Willie’s Dock Bar and The New White Swan Restaurant (across 10th Street to view the Back River)
