Del. Bob Long “We Remember Those Who Gave Their Lives”

-The following Memorial Day message was submitted by Delegate Bob Long of District 6-

We should honor all the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms every day, but we especially need to remember their sacrifices on this Memorial Day.

Freedom is not always free, and we must continue to thank the brave men and women that serve this nation and are still fighting today to protect us and those freedoms.

There is a lot of division in this country, but Memorial Day is a time when we must come together to honor our fallen heroes.

We are not Democrats or Republicans on this day. We are all Americans.

I know it is a popular day for cookouts and going to the beach, but I would encourage everyone to attend a Memorial Day service.

There are multiple services in our District. It is a great way to show your respect for these heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. You can also say a prayer for those fallen men and women.

Attending a service offers a great opportunity to interact with veterans still with us today where you can thank a veteran for their service on this Memorial Day. Please join me in celebrating this special day.
