Roadwork on Belair Road in Northeast Baltimore County

The Office of Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga reported the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration began a resurfacing project on Friday, Oct. 13, on US 1 (Belair Road) between Mount Vista Road and Jerusalem Road in Kingsville. The $1.2 million project should be complete by mid-November, weather permitting.

The project includes milling (removing the top layer of asphalt), paving, and restriping
approximately one mile of US 1. Drivers should expect single-lane closures on US 1 Mondays
through Fridays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

“One of our primary responsibilities is to ensure the safety of our district through a good road
network,” said Delegate Ryan Nawrocki. “We have regularly encouraged SHA to continue to
maintain and enhance the roadways in our district.”

“We will continue to advocate for roadway improvements in Kingsville to ensure the safety and
efficiency of our state roadways,” said Delegate Kathy Szeliga.

“This corridor of US 1 is a significant priority of ours and we will continue to work together with state and local officials to see it improved.”

The Delegates thank the Maryland Department of Transportation for making these important road
improvements. The Delegates also thank the public for their patience and for situational awareness
during this project.
