Bowleys Quarters Landmark to be Imploded

Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue and Marine announced that the former C.P. Crane Power Station in Bowleys Quarters will be imploded on Friday, Aug. 19 at 8 a.m. weather permitting.

Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue and Marine, Marine Emergency Team 21, Baltimore County Fire Department, Baltimore County Police Department & Maryland Department of Natural Resources – Natural Resources Police – will secure the area beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Carroll Island Road will be closed at Seneca Park Road. Seneca Creek will be closed to boat traffic south of the site between Seneca Point and Carroll Island. These closings will reopen shortly after the implosion, as safety permits.

The facility caught on fire in July.
