The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will continue paving work along US 1 (Belair Road) and will begin the Perry Hall portion of the project.
Beginning 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, contractor crews will mill, patch and resurface pavement on 1.3 miles of northbound and southbound US 1 between Chapel Road and Ebenezer Road in Perry Hall. The work was originally scheduled for May 6.
During paving work, single-lane closures will be in effect on both sections of US 1 weekdays, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The work on US 1 is part of a $10.5 million State Highway Administration contract to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on primary state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor Gray & Son, Inc. of Timonium will handle the resurfacing work at both locations.
MDOT reminds motorists to “drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.”
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
