Olszewski, Klacik, Collier Among Local Primary Winners

Baltimore County Executive and Millers Island resident John Olszewski Jr. started off his bid to become the next Congressman of the 2nd District with a big win as he received over 78 percent of the vote in the Congressional District 2 (Baltimore and Carrol County) primary. Del. Harry Bhandari, an Overlea resident, came in a distance second with 8 percent.

Middle River resident Kim Klacik won the Republican nomination in the 2nd Congressional District and will face Olszewski in 2024.

Dundalk resident Scott Collier once again has won the Republican nomination in Congressional District 7 (Dundalk and Baltimore City) and will face Congressman Kweisi Mfume in a rematch from November 2022.

Republican Congressman Andy Harris won his primary in the 1st District (Northern Perry Hall and the Eastern Shore) will face Democratic challenger Blane H. Miller, III in November.

Anglea Alsobrooks won the Democratic U.S. Senate race against David Trone. She will face former Gov. Larry Hogan as he easily won the Republican nomination.
