Harford Park Community Association (HPCA) in Parkville and Holland Hills in Rosedale both held a cleanup on Saturday.

Neighbors and volunteers from the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy collected around 47 bags of trash from the Herring Run and Harford Park this morning — 47 bags. The crew also cleaned out a discarded refrigerator and mattress and more.

“A huge thank you to everyone who came out,” said a statement from HPCA
“Our gratitude goes out to all those who helped, with special shoutouts to County Councilman Izzy Patoka, County Councilman Mike Ertel, and Delegate Carl Jackson for showing up and helping to clean up our neighborhood”

Ertel released a statement that he attended the Harford Park cleanup and then attended a cleanup in Rosedale.

“We cleaned up at two different 6th District neighborhoods this weekend. One in Harford Park today and yesterday in Holland Hill. That ended up being about three 30-yard dumpsters full of trash and debris<” Ertel said on social media.

“Special thanks to Delegate Carl Jackson, Council Chairman Izzy Patoka, Central Committee member Shannon Sheetz and Neighborhood presidents Cathy Thompson and Rachel Keatts and all the neighbors who helped out.

There are more community cleanups scheduled for Sparrows Point and Essex this week.
