Armstrong Named New Kenwood Principal

Carl Armstrong has been appointed as principal of Kenwood High School in Essex. He was recently Assistant Principal at Parkville High School.

He takes over for outgoing Kenwood principal Brian Powell.

Armstrong is been with Baltimore County Public Schools for 16 years.

According to his bio, Armstrong taught Spanish 2/3/4/AP at Perry Hall High School Official, where he also served as World Languages Department Chair.  He participated in the rewriting of the countywide Spanish 3 curriculum.

Armstrong was a teacher at Deer Park Middle Magnet, where he also served as Acting World Languages Department Chair.

Armstrong holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University.

Fifth District BCPS School Board Member Julie Henn released a statement welcoming Armstrong.

“Baltimore County Councilman David Marks and I look forward to meeting with Principal Armstrong very soon and are excited to welcome him to Kenwood and to offer our full support,” Henn said.
