Overlea High to Receive Funding for Auditorium Upgrades

Delegate Carl Jackson announced that Baltimore County Public Schools has requested funding for auditorium and stage lighting upgrades at Owings Mills and Overlea High Schools under the Aging School Program. This will replace the aging out of date systems with state-of-the-art at the schools. Jackson is a graduate of the school.

“As an Overlea Falcon, I am proud to announce that Baltimore County Public Schools(BCPS) will be moving forward with replacing the outdated auditorium and stage lighting at Overlea High School. I want to thank BCPS for making this needed investment into Overlea’s aging auditorium,” Jackson said in a statement.

“BIG thank you Christina Pumphrey, Baltimore County Board of Education for supporting and pushing for this project. Lastly, I want to thank the PTSA of Overlea High School, Inc. for raising their voices about the conditions of the current auditorium. Change only comes when WE speak up.”

BCPS added that every effort will be made to expedite the design, bidding and construction of both projects to ensure full use of these facilities as soon as practical.
