Eastern Tech Student Wins Track & Field State Title

Ameer Mowad of Eastern Tech won two state titles at MPSSAA State Track & Field Championships last week at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex.

Mowad won the Mens 100 Meters 2A Championship with a time of 10.54a (1.7). He also finished first in the 2A 200 Meters race with a time of 21.30a (0.9) 

Here is a list of all second and third place winners from the area.

Mowad, along with Eastern Tech teammates Mowad, Olufemi Omolafe, Greatness Aregbesola and Rhema Nkwocha finished third in the Mens 2A 4×400 Relay with a time of 3:21.74a

Doyin Smith of Parkville High School finished second with a time of 10.61a in the Mens 4A 200 Meters finals

Parkville High Aaron Lippman earned a second place spot in the Men’s 4A 800 Meters Finals with a time of 1:53.83a

Aaron Little, another Parkvilke High student, finished third in the Men’s Hurdles – 39″ 4A – Finals with a time of .52a (1.2)

The Overlea High team of Davon Shell, Kymanni Johnson, Alex Lee and Taiwan Samuel took third place in the Mens 3A 4×100 Relay with a time of
42.37a

Overlea High student Zion Brown finished second in the Womens 300m Hurdles – 30″ 3A – Finals with a time of 46.35a.
