The Maryland Transportation Authority announced starting March 28 four highway speed lanes through the former toll plaza will be open for motorists traveling I-95 northbound at the Fort McHenry Tunnel.
Northbound tolls will be collected via new overhead electronic toll gantry just after the tunnel bore. With gantry activation, toll feedback displays in former plaza are deactivated.
Motorists are reminded to stay alert and adhere to overhead lane-use signals. All motorists must obey the posted speed limits for the lane of travel. Commercial vehicles and motorists using Exit 56/Keith Avenue should stay right.
Tolling remains in effect and motorist are advised to always properly mount their E-ZPass transponder and keep account up to date to receive the lowest toll rate.
The Southbound I-95 lanes were set back in February.
