Essex Day Returns This Saturday

The 49th Annual Essex Day Festival, sponsored in part by MedStar Health, is a FREE family-friendly event which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Eastern Boulevard from Mace Avenue to Woodward Avenue in the heart of Essex. Essex Day is the largest one-day festival in Baltimore County!

Opening ceremonies will be held at 11:30 am on the Essex Day Main Stage located at Taylor Avenue. Many local elected officials are scheduled to be in attendance. Special guest is Baltimore Ravens Super Fan Captain DEE-FENSE!

The event will kick off with a parade featuring Baltimore Ravens Super Fan Captain DEE-FENSE, Aisquith’s Sharpshooters, Glenn L. Martin Composite Squadron, Boy Scouts, local Fire Departments, Victory Stars dancers, and more.

Essex Day, organized by the New Essex Day Festival Association, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, will include a full schedule of live bands at the main stage; community groups and multicultural entertainment at the Community Stage, pie eating contest; car show; mechanical bull; children’s activities and pony rides; tours of the Heritage Society of Essex and Middle River Museum; more than 160 arts and crafts, novelty, sports, and food vendors; food trucks; beer garden; nonprofit organizations, local businesses, community resources and more.

“We are really excited to bring back the Essex Day Festival for our 49th year on the Boulevard,” said Will Feuer, Essex Day president.

“Each year, approximately 8-10,000 visitors line the Boulevard to meet up with friends and family and enjoy the day. This event gets bigger and better every year, and we are gearing up for next year’s 50th Essex Day.”
