Today marks the one-year anniversary since the Francis Scott Key Bridge was struck, collapsed and killed six workers around 1:30 a.m.
The bridge was struck early in the morning on March 26 by the M/V Dali which remained onsite until May.
Six workers, who were conducting minor repairs to the bridge, were trapped after the collapse and their bodies were later found underwater. One worker was able to get to safety.
Clean up in the channel took months as the Port of Baltimore was limited during that time.
The event also brought the Governor and President of the United States to Dundalk. The rebuilding process began as a new design and contractors were selected for the new bridge.
The new Key Bridge is expected to open in 2028.
