We have East County match ups in two regional softball finals.
Dundalk will host Perry Hall in the 4A North Regional and Chesapeake will host Sparrows Point in the 2A North Regional Finals. Both games are scheduled for Wednesday, weather permitting. Here is a recap of the regional semifinals.
4A
Dundalk 3 Kenwood 1
The Owls held on to defeat Kenwood 3-1 in the 4A North Regional Semifinals. Makayla Woods had a hit and scored a run to help the Owls advance.
Perry Hall 17 Western 0
The Gators went on the road and destroyed the Baltimore City school in the other 4A semifinals.
2A
Chesapeake 26 Southwestern 7
The Bayhawks easily defeated the Baltimore City school at home. Chesapeake will host the regional finals but will be heavy underdogs against Sparrows Point.
Sparrows Point 9 Eastern Tech 5
The Pointers outlasted the Mavericks in the battle of two heavyweights.
Sparrows Point’s Maissa Muffoltto and Alana Meurer led the offense with key hits in the game.
Eastern Tech’s Yanika Patel and Gracie Himmelman each had a hit and a RBI in the loss.
