The first round of the MPSSAA football playoffs is in the books. Sparrows Point, Overlea and Dundalk advanced to the second round with home wins over the weekend. Perry Hall received a bye and will open up the playoffs this weekend. Kenwood, Parkville, and Patapsco’s seasons came to an end with first-round losses. Eastern Tech and Chesapeake declined the playoffs.

4A East Bracket
Dundalk 41 Meade 26
The Owls fell behind 13-0 and were trailing 26-13 until they scored 20 unanswered points to defeat Meade 41-26. Dundalk will play at Annapolis 6 p.m. this Friday.
Glen Burnie 54 Parkville 12
The Knights season came to end at Glen Burnie.
4A/3A North Bracket
Perry Hall -Bye
The Gators earned the number one seed and received a first-round bye. They will open up the second-round at home against Digital Harbor. The game is set for Friday with a 5 p.m. kickoff.
Catonsville 21 Kenwood 13
Kenwood finishes the season with a road lose at Catonsville.
3A North Bracket
Overlea 26 Poly 8
Overlea keeps their season a live with a win over Poly from Baltimore City. The Falcons return to Baltimore County competition as they travel to Franklin in the second round. That game is set for Friday at 6 p.m.
2A North Bracket
New Town 32 Patapsco 14
The Patriots season ended at New Town as they lost 32-14.
2A/1A North Bracket
Sparrows Point 27 North East (Cecil) 14
Sparrows Point is back in the second round as they defeated North East. The Pointers get a rematch with Fallston after the Harford County team defeated them at Sparrows Point in the 2023 playoffs. This game will be in Fallston.
