Chase Fire Reported at the Oliver Beach Community Hall

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported a fire at the Oliver Beach Community Hall on Friday around 10:30 p.m. The hall is located at 13203 Susquehanna Rd. in Chase.

The Oliver Beach Improvement Association (OBIA) reported that no one was at the hall during the fire, but the building will remain unavailable as they begin the process of repairing and rebuilding the hall.

“Thank you so much to all the local fire departments for quickly and safely extinguishing the fire. Our community hall is the main source of income for OBIA and it is booked out many months in advance for events and parties. It will take time for us to recover from this devastating event, and we appreciate your patience and understanding,” said a statement form OBIA.

“Our hall is the home to great memories, fun times, community bonding, and has been a landmark in the Oliver Beach community for close to 75 years. At this point, we don’t know how long the hall will be unavailable, but we do know that we will rebuild as quickly as possible so we can return to serving our members and the community.”

OBIA announced it will contact and refund anyone that had an upcoming event scheduled at the hall.
