County Council Revokes Lafarge Proposal

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced that he and his fellow members of the council.passed a resolution on Monday that puts an end to a development in Middle River.

“Tonight, the Baltimore County Council unanimously revoked the application for development of the Lafarge Quarry,” Marks said in a statement on Monday night.

The proposal called for the development of an industrial complex at the Lafarge site off Earls Road.

Marks and other community members had concerns about traffic and environmental impacts with the proposal. There has also been an interest into looking at this site for a future BCPS school.

Marks has been calling to revoke the industrial complex proposal since his office took over the Middle River area in December.

“I thank my colleagues and all residents who stood with me on this critical issue as we seek to preserve our Eastside quality of life.”
