Del. Long: “Cluster Boxes to Replace Ft. Howard Post Office”

The following article was submitted by Del. Bob Long about cluster boxes being used to replace the closing Fort Howard Post Office

United States Postal Service announced last Thursday that they will be placing cluster boxes at Fort Howard Veterans Park.

This will start on Tuesday, Oct. 31 as a replacement for the closing of the Fort Howard Post Office.

It is a shame that the Fort Howard Post Office could not remain open, but I am happy that Fort Howard residents will not have to drive all the way to Dundalk to receive their daily mail.

Congressman Mfume’s office informed me that the transition from the Fort Howard post office to the new cluster boxes would simultaneously be done without any interruption of mail services and boxes, magazines, and small packages will fit inside these cluster boxes and lockers will be on site for larger items.

I have highly recommended solar lighting be placed for safety.

I am hoping this resolves all the mail problems in Fort Howard, but we will monitor the efficiency of the cluster boxes.
