Sandalwood Elementary Principal Named Best in BCPS

Sandalwood Elementary School principal Melissa Lingenfelder was named Baltimore County Public School principal of the year.

She has been at the Essex elementary school for the past seven years and has worked for BCPS for 22 years.

Lingenfelder was recognized at a special Champions for Children Celebration Gala on Thursday, April 18, at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology.

Lingenfelder was one of three finalist as she was originally named BCPS Elementary School Principal of the Year. Dr. Scott Rodriguez-Hobbs, of Patapsco High School the BCPS High School Principal of the Year and Adam Carney of Cockeysville Middle School, the BCPS Middle School Principal of the Year, were the other two finalists.

Last month, Lingenfelder told eastcountytimes.com that was proud how she was able to create a safe and supportive learning environment during the past seven years at Sandalwood.
