Friendly’s in Dundalk announced it was closing near the end of the month.
“Thanks Dundalk for all the years. Last day Aug-24,” said a message on their marquee sign outside the restaurant, located at 1579 Merritt Blvd.
The restaurant and its famous ice cream has been a staple in the Dundalk community for decades, but it is the latest Friendly’s to close in the region.
The Essex Friendly’s on Eastern Boulevard closed over a decade ago. There were locations inside Eastpoint and White Marsh but both are now closed.
With the departure of the Dundalk location, the Perry Hall Friendly’s at 9551 Belair Road will remain the only store in the area.
