Councilman Marks: “Creation of Jennifer Run Park in Carney”

The following release was sent from the Office of  Councilman David Marks  about the creation of the Jennifer Run Park in the Carney area.

On Saturday, October 18, Councilman David Marks joined residents of Carney’s Jomat Avenue in celebrating the creation of the four-acre Jennifer Run Park at Jomat Avenue in Carney.

This was part of more than 60 acres of county-owned property redesignated as parkland by legislation.

Councilman Marks sponsored – at almost no cost to taxpayers.

“Thank you to Delegate Kathy Szeliga for joining us, as well as Meg O’Hare from the Carney Improvement Association and Deb Lancaster, who has supported many stream cleanups in this region,” Marks commented.

Delegate Ryan Nawrocki, Senator J.B. Jennings, and then-Senator Kathy Klausmeier supported this park as well.

Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks board member Bill Murray also attended.

“We have worked to protect open space from Middle River to Carney to Kingsville,” Marks concluded.  “Preserving our green space will continue to be a priority.”
