Baltimore County Department of Public Works announced water service will be shut off for repairs to the entire Bowleys Quarters Peninsula (see above image for detailed map) on Wednesday Jan. 21 from 9 am to 3 pm. to replace a 16″ water valve.
Repair crews will be operating at the intersection of Bowleys Quarters Road and Carroll Island Road.
Seneca and Chase elementary schools have closed tomorrow due to the water service interruption.
Residents have advised to prepare by
* filling up water bottles/ cups with drinking water for both your family and pets
* fill up buckets/ jugs/ coolers with water to flush your toilet
*fill up your bath tubs/sinks to have extra water on hand
Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marina said crews are prepping and will be ready for tomorrow.
Additional fire engines and resources will be dispatched to any fire call in the Bowleys Quarters area to ensure we have adequate water supply for fire suppression operations,” the fire station said on social media.
“We are also able to draft water to our engines from the creeks and rivers, if accessible through the ice.”
