The Maryland Department of Transportation gave an update on the Key Bridge demolition on its Key Bridge Rebuild site.
According to the site, all north and south side spans of concrete roadway decking have been removed.
The removal of the steel girders on the south side is scheduled next.
Each girder weighs approximately 50,000 pounds and is being removed by torch cutting the steel and safely lowering girders to the ground with a crane.
