On July 10th, the Perry Hall 250 Committee welcomed the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the community’s 250th anniversary.
In addition to classical pieces and modeen tunes, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brass section led the 800-person audience in singing “Happy Birthday” to Perry Hall, founded in 1775.
“This was a magical celebration of Perry Hall’s 250th birthday,” commented Tenee Streib, chair of the event. “Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who supported the concert, as well as Perry Hall Baptist Church for their hospitality.”
County Executive Kathy Klausmeier and Councilman David Marks delivered remarks to the crowd.
Substantial funding for the free concert was provided by Baltimore County Government, Friends of David Marks and Tim’s Automotive and Towing.
“This was the centerpiece of our yearlong celebration of Perry Hall’s 250th birtbday,” Marks concluded. Other events will include construction of the Honeygo Regional Veterans Memorial and burial of a time capsule.
