Delegates Kathy Szeliga and Ryan Nawrocki, representing Eastern Baltimore County, respond to the announcement that Speaker Jones is stepping down as Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates.
As members of the Baltimore County Delegation, Delegates Szeliga and Nawrocki thank Speaker Jones for her service.
“I wish her nothing but the best, and I am sorry to see the Speaker resign,” said Delegate Kathy Szeliga.
“As leaders of the Republican Caucus, Delegate Nic Kipke and I were proud to have played an important role in electing Adrienne Jones as the first woman and first African American Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates.”
“I thank Speaker Jones for her dedication to Baltimore County and Maryland,” said Delegate Ryan Nawrocki.
“Having the first Speaker from Baltimore County in over fifty years was meaningful to the region, and having her in that role will be missed.”
Adrienne Jones has been Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates since 2019.
