Henn and McMillion file for reelection for BCPS school board

The BCPS Board of Education is holding its third election since the Board expanded from an all appointed school board to a hybrid board of elected and appointed members.

One the Eastside, 5th District [Perry Hall, White Marsh and Kingsville] School Board Member Julie Henn and 7th Board Member [Dundalk, Essex and Edgemere] Rod McMillion have filed for reelection. Henn and McMillion are the other two candidates to file in their respective districts.

No candidates have filed to run in District 6. [Middle River, Overlea and Rosedale]. Christina Pumphrey iQms the incumbent in that district.
Board members can only get elected for three terms.

Henn previously thought she was ineligible to run again since she was appointed in 2016 and elected in the 2018 and 2022 elections, but discovered she can run one more time.

“While I previously believed I was reaching a term limit, a formal legal review has confirmed my full eligibility to continue this work,” Henn wrote on social media.

Although the county’s Board of Elections District’s mirror the Baltimore County Council District’s, the school board’s seven districts will not expand to match the County Council new nine district format in 2026.
