The Costas Inn, a restaurant in Dundalk, announced that their owner Costas Triantafilos has died from carbon monoxide poisoning at his home in Glen Arm.
Baltimore County Fire Department reported units responded to the 11200 block of Old Carriage Road in Glen Arm, for a reported cardiac arrest at a residence, which quickly escalated into a hazardous carbon monoxide (CO) emergency on Monday at 7:37 a.m.
Upon arrival, fire department air monitoring equipment alerted crews to dangerously high CO levels.
Crews quickly removed an unresponsive woman from the home and soon discovered a second victim, an adult male.
An investigation determined that a vehicle left running in an attached garage was the cause of the dangerous CO buildup.
EMS personnel transported both victims to an area hospital in critical condition and the Dundalk restaurant confirmed that Triantafilos died from the incident.
Triantafilos’ wife Mary was the other person injured. She still remains in critical condition.
