Baltimore County Fire Department reported its members responded to the 2100 block of Cameron Drive in Dundalk for reports of an apartment fire at 12:38 a.m. on Saturday.
Crews from the Dundalk station arrived within minutes to find fire coming from the rear of the building with occupants trapped.
Firefighters immediately began search and rescue efforts and rescued a total of six occupants.
Four civilians suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals (one serious, three minor). The Red Cross is assisting 12 residents and seven pets displaced by the fire.
The fire was brought under control at 1:21 a.m.
Baltimore County Police Department arson detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
