Man Arrested and Charged With Attempted Murder in Dundalk

A man was arrested in Dundalk and charged with attempted murder after an encounter with police.

The traffic stop was conducted in the 3300 block of McShane Way just before midnight on Sunday, June 30.

During the stop, other officers responded to assist. While speaking with the male driver, and sole occupant, of the vehicle, a firearm was observed between his legs. The driver was ordered to place his hands on his head, but he failed to comply and put the car into gear as one of the officers attempted to detain him. The suspect accelerated and dragged the officer before crashing in an alleyway.

Two handguns, one with a high-capacity magazine, were recovered, along with an auto sear switch from the suspect’s vehicle.

Additionally, a large amount of narcotics and U.S. currency totaling over $15,000.00 was seized from the suspect’s vehicle.

The driver, 25-year-old Xzavier J. Logan, Jr. has been charged with attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, along with firearms and CDS-related charges. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
