Two Middle River residents are dead after police said a 48-year-old man fatally shot his estranged wife in Anne Arundel County, and later fatally shot himself during a traffic stop in New Jersey.
Anne Arundel County Police responded for a report of a shooting at the Smith Bus Service located in the 1800 block of Bucklina Ave in Odenton on Monday, June 16, at approximately 10:13 am.
Upon arrival, officers located a female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased.
She was identified as 45-year-old Monyette Marie Stephenson of Middle River.
Detectives viewed the video surveillance of the incident and detectives said they identified the shooter as Trimall Stephenson, an employee at the bus service and the estranged husband of the victim.
According to police, Trimall Stephenson, also a Middle River resident, was subsequently located by law enforcement at a rest stop in Hamilton, New Jersey.
As Troopers from the New Jersey State Police approached the vehicle, the suspect turned a firearm on himself.
Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Detectives are working with the New Jersey State Police on the investigation.
