Odor Causes Perry Hall Middle School Evacuation

Perry Hall Middle School reported an evacuation at the school in the 4300 block of Ebenezer Road on Friday afternoon. Here is the official email from the school

At 1:30 p.m. today, the school administration was informed of an unusual odor in the school building. As a precaution, we implemented the school’s evacuation procedures and notified Baltimore County Fire Department and emergency officials, who responded promptly to the school and are investigating the source of the odor. All students and staff are safe and continuing to follow proper evacuation protocol.

“However, because BCFD investigators have yet to allow re-entry the building, students are currently still being held at a safe distance. At this time, we are asking families NOT to come to the school to pick up their child .

“In addition, dismissal may be delayed this afternoon as a result. We will update families as soon as we receive additional information from BCFD or are allowed to return to the building.”

Baltimore County Fire Department reported units were investigating an odor in the school but said there was no immediate danger to the children.
