Baltimore County Police reported officers responded to the 100 block of Carroll Island Road for a report of shots fired on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.
Officers learned that a group of juveniles had been involved in an altercation near the entrance of a store.
Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department have responded and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This was an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
The Office of Councilman David Marks reported a suspect has been identified.
“I remain in touch with the police, Senator J.B. Jennings and Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga regarding the incident at the Carroll Island Shopping Center. We have received confirmation that one juvenile was in possession of a firearm,” Marks said in a statement.
“During the altercation, the firearm discharged. It appears the projectile struck a wall on the inside of the vestibule. The suspect has been identified and the police are working to locate him. I will be contacting the States Attorney to urge full prosecution once an arrest has been made.”
