Police involved shooting reported on Carroll Island Rd in Middle River

Baltimore County police officers were on the scene of a police-involved shooting that occurred Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Carroll Island Road in Middle River.

Officers were called to the area after receiving a check on location call in reference to an armed subject wanted in an assault.

When officers located the adult female, who was in her vehicle, they began to engage with the subject who relinquished a knife to officers.

According to police, the subject later produced a firearm at which time one officer discharged their firearm.

Once the scene was secured, officers rendered aid to the subject, who was transported to an area hospital with a potential life-threatening gunshot wound.

A firearm was recovered from inside the subject’s vehicle. Per Department policy, the officer has been placed on administrative leave.

The Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
