Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue and Marine reported crews responded to structural damage to a residence In the Williams Estates/ Peppermint Woods Community following a quick but strong weather event on Wednesday.
(Update- National Weather Service reported this storm was a tornado)
Upon arrival, multiple units from Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine reported significant structure and property damages throughout the community and immediately requested assistance from Baltimore County Fire Department Chase Station, The Maryland Air National Guard Fire Station, and Baltimore County Emergency Management .
Crews from the units above assessed over 850+ homes in the Bowleys Quarters community to identify at least 50 with structural and or property damage within a few hours.
The American Red Cross was requested to assist displaced residents with food and shelter.
The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company responded with the canteen unit to keep crew members hydrated and fed throughout the evening.
Units were back on scene this morning to do a detailed assessment of the damages once visibility improved.
