Police Investigate Threat Made at Sparrows Point Middle School

Baltimore County Police released information about a threat made  at Sparrows Point Middle School. Here is the official release:

Baltimore County Police School Resource Officers and detectives from Baltimore County Police Department’s Behavioral Assessment Unit have been working closely with our partners at Baltimore County Public Schools to address reported threats shared online by an 11-year-old student at Sparrows Point Middle School.

As part of this ongoing investigation, the Department has spoken with the child’s parents, concerned community members, and school administrators. Based on the information gathered during the investigation, any potential or perceived threats have been mitigated and there is no active threat.

Still, this matter remains under investigation to ensure our schools and community remain safe.

The Department wants to remind students of all ages, parents, and community members of the seriousness of making threats and the disruption they create.

As we move forward, the Department urges anyone with a knowledge of a threat or suspicious activity to immediately report it.
