The Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue and Marina reported coastal flooding in Bowleys Quarters on the afternoon on Thursday, Oct. 30.
“High tides and persistent winds are causing minor to moderate flooding in low-lying areas of Bowleys Quarters this afternoon. Many waterfront yards are currently flooded, several homes in the lowest areas are surrounded by water but we have no official reports of damage to homes or structures at this time,” said a statement from BQVFRM
“Please continue to monitor tide levels and changing wind conditions. If you are able, move vehicles, equipment, or valuables to higher ground as a precaution.”
BQVFRM also said no one should play or walk in standing water.
There could be electrical shorts or strong underwater currents.
Motorists are warned not to drive through flooded roadways
