Perry Hall Defense Leads Team to 21-2 Win Over Dulaney

Perry Hall’s defense was dominating Dulaney all game but the Gators were down 2-0 late in the third quarter.

Dulaney was on the verge of scoring with a 4th and goal at the Perry Hall 1, but the defense made a fourth down stop to change the momentum.

Stuck at their one foot line, Gator quarterback Joey Albrecht connected with running back Noah Williams for a 99-yard touchdown pass on third-down with 4:51 left in the third quarter.

That was all that Perry Hall needed in a 21-2 win over Dulaney in the 4A/3A North Regional Semifinals.

Albrecht threw three interceptions before his touchdown and was sacked for a safety in the first quarter.

He turned it around and scored all three Gator touchdowns.

Albrecht threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kyree Garnett on a fourth down play and ran in a 2-yard touchdown. The junior quarterback had over 175 passing yards with two touchdowns and over 50-yards rushing.

Although the offense struggled in the first half, the Gator defense keep the team in the game with three interceptions, including a Melvin Curry interception at the goalline.

The Gators ran out the clock in the fourth quarter with their running game. Williams had over 45 yards rushing, and Cameron Scott picked up 75 yards on the ground.

Perry Hall returns to the State Quarterfinals for the third straight year.
