Sparrows Point resident Tim Fazenbaker has officially filed to run for Baltimore County Council in the new District 9.
The Baltimore County Council voted to expand its districts from seven to nine for the 2026 Election. District 9 makes up the Dundalk, Rosedale and Edgemere portion of the old District 7.
The Republican candidate filed on Dec. 23.
“My decision to run is rooted in protecting Dundalk and Sparrows Point from policies he believes negatively impact residents and local industry,” Fazenbaker said.
Fazenbaker has been a consistent and outspoken critic of sanctuary-style policies and increasing county fees.
He said his priorities as councilman will include “cooperation with ICE, attracting AI and technology development to the area, cleaning and protecting local waterways, expanding trade and job training opportunities and putting local residents and taxpayers first.”
Fazenbaker’s background includes: elected Republican Central Committee Representative, former Vice President of the 7th District Civic Council, HOA President and small business owner.
Fazenbaker joins JD Urbach in the Republican primary in District 9.
