Community leader and advocate Josh Sines officially kicked off his campaign for Baltimore County Council in the newly created District 8 with an event at Pooles Island Brewery last week.

“The campaign’s official kickoff fundraiser, held January 13 at Pooles Island Brewery, drew more than 300 residents, community leaders, and small business owners from across Essex, Middle River, and White Marsh. The strong turnout reflected broad support and enthusiasm for a campaign focused on common sense, accountability, and putting District 8 communities first,” Sines told Eastcountytimes.com in an email

Sines is running as a Republican and is the President of the Essex Middle River Civic Council.
He said his campaign is rooted in common sense, accountability, and putting communities first.

“This campaign is about teamwork, common sense, and community,” Sines added.

“When we work together and focus on what unites us, we can build a brighter future for District 8.”

According to the life long resident of Eastern Baltimore County, he has built a reputation for straightforward, community-focused leadership and he has worked to strengthen neighborhoods, support local projects, and give residents a stronger voice in government.

“District 8 is full of hardworking families, small businesses, and strong neighborhoods,” said Sines.

“I’m running for County Council to continue building on that strength to bring people together, use common sense in every decision, and always put our communities first.”

The new District 8 includes Essex, Middle River, and parts of White Marsh and Rosedale.

Phillip DePalo also filed for County Council as a Republican in the new District 8

Sharonda Dillard-Huffman and Jack Carmody have filed on the Democratic side.
