Baltimore County Police reported a officer involved shooting in Overlea on Saturday night.
Officers were called to the 4900 block of Hazlewood Avenue around 9:15 p.m. and found shell casings, but the armed subject was no longer on scene.
Police received additional information and encountered the adult male down the street.
Officers noticed the suspect was still armed, and he began fled the scene.
According to police, the suspect refused to drop his weapon, which resulted in the subject being injured.
Officers rendered medical aid to the adult male, who was later transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras. Per Department policy, they have been placed on routine administrative leave.
Homicide detectives will conduct the investigation into this officer-involved shooting.
