Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Myriam Rogers has announced her retirement at the end of the school year.
Rogers took over from Darryl L. Williams before the start of the 2023-24 school year.
According to Rogers, she started her career 30 years ago at Woodlawn High School as a chemistry teacher.
“Thank you to Team BCPS, the Board of Education, our elected officials, stakeholders, and community partners for entrusting me with this work of increasing achievement, strengthening climate and safety, and improving operational effectiveness,” Rogers said in a email.
“We have laid a stronger foundation, and I am confident the next leader of BCPS, in partnership with all stakeholders, will continue accelerating student achievement and building toward our shared vision of BCPS as one of the highest-performing school systems in the nation.”
BCPS will now look for their fifth superintendent since 2012.
