SHA to improve westbound section of US 40 in White Marsh

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform a $150,000 concrete pavement repair project for two weekends on a section of westbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between east of Days Cove Road and Allender Road in White Marsh on the weekends of April 10 and April 17, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect a right-lane closure on westbound US 40 between 9 p.m. Friday through  5 a.m. Monday, April 13. Crews will return to work on the left lane the following weekend between 9 p.m. Friday, April 17 and 5 a.m. Monday, April 20.

One lane on westbound US 40 will be closed 24 hours a day through the weekend and the other lane may be shifted onto the shoulder to enable the concrete to cure. Both lanes of eastbound US 40 will remain open during the work on the westbound lanes.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, contractor crews will have temporary lane closures in effect  9 a.m.– 3 p.m. on westbound US 40 to prepare for the weekend work.

The work includes removing and replacing sections of old concrete pavement and test sections of new concrete pavement along westbound US 40 in the project limits.

The work will is expected to improve safety and ride quality.
This work is being done as part of a $7 million contract for asphalt and concrete pavement repair and resurfacing in Baltimore and Harford counties.
