District 8 state Senator Carl Jackson announces his State Legislative Bond Initiatives for 2026. They include the following items:
*$2 million for Eastside Commuter Bus from White Marsh to Tradepoint Atlantic in Sparrows Point.
*$130K for new playground at Cromwell Valley Elementary School
*$125K for Overlea High School scoreboard
*$100K for security and technology upgrade at Parkville, Overlea-Fullerton, Seven Oaks and Victory Villa senior centers.
*$50K for enhancements for Dowden Chapel cemetery in Nottingham.
*$50K for playground enhancements at Villa Cresta Elementary
*$50k for a fence around McCormick Elementary School playground
*$33,000 for a freezer for the Christ Villa Church’s food pantry.
“I’m proud to have secured $2.7 million in direct investment for Legislative District 8 across several important community projects,” Jackson said.
“As your State Senator, I remain committed to delivering real results that strengthen our neighborhoods, support local priorities, and enhance the quality of life for the residents we serve.
“These investments represent meaningful progress, and I will continue working to bring critical resources back home to District 8.”
