Baltimore County Fire Department will celebrate the Push-In Ceremony commemorating the Department’s Battalion expansion and honor newly promoted Battalion Chiefs.
The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. at Eastview Station 15 in Dundalk.
This ceremony marks a major milestone as BCFD will expand from three battalions to six.
“This vital growth will enhance public safety and dramatically improve command response times across the county,” BCFD said in a statement.
“In keeping with a fire service tradition dating back to the 1800s, we will “push in” our apparatus into the station bay. This ritual, originating from the days of horse-drawn engines when crews had to manually push equipment into the station, symbolizes teamwork, unity, and a collective readiness to serve.”
