Baltimore County Fire Department reported a dwelling fire in the 3100 block of Shortway in Dundalk claimed the life of an adult female.
Crews responded at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18 to find flames coming the home. An adult male was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. One adult female was pronounced dead on-scene.
Fire crews also discovered one deceased dog.
Baltimore County Police Department fire investigators found the fire was sparked by improperly discarded smoking materials.
