Baltimore County is now accepting nominations for the third annual Community Heroes Awards. It is to honor community members who give their time and hearts in service to others.
Seven residents—one from each County Council district—will be honored for their selfless dedication to making a difference for those around them.
Here is the statement from Baltimore County:
Baltimore County Executive Katherine Klausmeier will recognize deserving individuals who have made significant and meaningful contributions to their communities. Seven residents – one from each County Council district – will be honored for their selfless dedication to making a difference for those around them.
All Baltimore County Residents are eligible for the 2025 Community Leaders Award.
Examples of a Community Hero include – but are not limited to – an individual who:
• Creates programs and initiatives in response to community needs
• Raises awareness about their community’s history or legacy
• Establishes and nurtures community relationships through neighborhood events, celebrations or fundraising
• Promotes and celebrates diversity in their community
• Advocates for their communities’ most vulnerable residents
• Volunteers at local institutions – including schools – in need of assistance
All entries should include an up-to 350-word description of the nominee along with contact information. Submissions can be made through June 30, 2025.
