October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and TurnAround is honoring the life of Jacobi. His young life was cut short by domestic violence on Christmas Eve 2024 at their home in East Baltimore County.
At the request of his family, TurnAround’s Dundalk location will officially be named in his memory, ensuring that we never forget Jacobi’s legacy. TurnAround’s Dundalk Center will be renamed the Jacobi Center.
TurnAround, Inc. will also hold its first Open House at this location.on Monday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Community members and advocates are invited to attend and experience a guided walkthrough of the Jacobi Center – a powerful journey that reflects the path a survivor takes when seeking support.
This Open House will include guided tours, opportunities to meet TurnAround’s staff, and conversations highlighting the organization’s vital services: crisis response, advocacy, trauma therapy, community engagement, and training.
As Baltimore City and Baltimore County’s designated rape crisis center, TurnAround has spent over 45 years educating, advocating, and empowering individuals impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
Local and state dignitaries, community leaders, business partners, and long-time advocates of TurnAround are expected to attend.
