Carol Sue Hart of Oliver Beach was named Fifth District Citizen of the Year by Councilman David Marks.
Here is the statement from Marks about Hart’s effort to help repair Oliver Beach Improvement Association community hall.
“In March, the Oliver Beach Improvement Association community hall was nearly destroyed by a fire. Today, thanks to the hard work of OBIA president Carol Sue Hart and her board, repairs are underway -with support from a grant provided by Baltimore County. I was happy to honor her as a Citizen of the Year ” Mark said in a statement.
“I joined Carol and Josh Sines, president of the Essex-Middle River Civic Council, at the building and a nearby bulkhead being repaired with financial help from Baltimore County.
“Many thanks also to our first responders who responded to the fire, and to our state legislators – Senator J.B. Jennings and Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga – who have also supported this hall and community.”
